About Jim Z. Rider
Thirty years as a photojournalist has provided Jim with the opportunity to build a unique library of candid, slice-of-life images illustrating the daily events of people from all walks of life. A recent move to Portland, Oregon has satisfied a long-standing desire to live in the Northwest and launch a freelance business. While he will remain productive in the world of photojournalism, he looks forward to expanding his canvas to include nature, lifestyle and architectural photography.
In recent years, Jim's work has appeared in several major publications and websites including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, SI.com, ESPN.com, Chicago Tribune, NPR, and The Wall Street Journal. Jim graduated from Indiana University with a degree in journalism and political science. He was named one of the top ten college photographers in the nation by the William Randolph Hearst Collegiate Photojournalism Competiton. He interned at The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Orange County Register, The Palm Beach Post, The Indianapolis Star and The Herald-Times (Bloomington, IN). He is currently represented by ZUMA Press.
